2nd Friday Art Walk scheduled for May 8 in Carrboro and Chapel Hill

The Town of Carrboro announced on May 5 that the 2nd Friday Art Walk will take place on May 8 across downtown Carrboro and Chapel Hill.

The event offers an opportunity for residents and visitors to explore local art galleries, artist studios, shops, and restaurants. Activities will include live music, performances, spoken word poetry, and more. Most venues are expected to be open during late afternoon and evening hours. Exhibits at Carrboro Town Hall and the Drakeford Library Complex will be available from 6 to 8 p.m.

A variety of locations are participating in this month’s art walk. These include Ackland Art Museum at 101 S. Columbia St., Areté Wellness Studio at 213 E. Braxton Foushee, The ArtsCenter at 400 Roberson St., The Beehive Salon at 102 E. Weaver St., Café Driade at 1215-A East Franklin St., Carrboro Town Hall at 301 W. Main St., Content Matters at Suite B13a in Carr Mill Mall, Drakeford Library Complex at 203 S. Greensboro St., FRANK Gallery at 370 E. Main St., The Frame & Print Shop in University Place, Krave at 105 W Main St., Lapin Blue on N. Graham St., Lanza’s Café on W Main Street, LIGHT Art + Design and Oneoneone on Rosemary Street, Mary Elizabeth Arts on Farrington Mill Rd., Meantime at the Junction on E. Rosemary Street, The Moxy Fox on E. Main Street, My Muses Card Shop on E Main St., North Carolina Crafts Gallery on W Main St., Peel Gallery + Photo Lab on W Rosemary St., This & That Gift Gallery on E. Main St., Vimala’s Curryblossom Cafe on W Franklin St., The Wallflower Gallery on Merritt Mill Road, and WomanCraft located off S. Elliott Rd.

Organizers encourage attendees to visit the various galleries and venues listed above for more information about specific exhibitions or activities taking place during the event.
