CHCCS Names Principal and Assistant Principal of the Year, Awards Central Office Administrator of the Year and Honors Two Teachers with Awards
Please join us in congratulating the recipients of five districtwide annual awards for 2022!
Aisha Howard of McDougle Elementary School received the Principal of the Year Award.
Lucas Paulsen of Carrboro High School received the Assistant Principal of the Year Award.
Emily Duncan, Math teacher at Chapel Hill High School, received the Jeanette Blackwell Mentor Teacher Award.
Emily Giardina, CTE Fashion Design teacher at Carrboro High School, received the Promising New Teacher Award.
Debby Atwater, director of Digital Learning and Libraries, and Tim Gibson, executive director of Elementary Schools, each were honored as Central Office Administrator of the Year.
Superintendent Nyah Hamlett and members of the CHCCS Human Resources and leadership teams visited schools and offices for the past week to deliver the news in “prize patrol” style. CHCCS will continue to honor staff members for a variety of awards and accomplishments at a June 6 recognition ceremony, to be held in-person at Carrboro High School. That evening, CHCCS will also announce its Teacher of the Year, the Mary Scroggs Award for Excellence in Providing Support Services and the School Support and Wellness Employee of the Year among many other awards and honors.
