Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools issued the following announcement on July 21.
Congratulations, new CHCCS principals and administrative appointments!
We are excited and delighted to announce that, moments ago, the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of Education approved several new principals and other administrative appointments:
Stacie Boyer was named principal of Ephesus Elementary School, effective tomorrow, July 21. She most recently served as the school’s Assistant Principal.
Kirtisha Jones was named principal of McDougle Elementary School, effective tomorrow, July 21. She most recently served as assistant principal of Northside Elementary School in CHCCS.
Christopher Horne was named principal of McDougle Middle School, effective Monday, Aug. 8. He will join CHCCS after having most recently served as a middle school principal in Columbus, OH.
Luke Paulsen was named principal of Culbreth Middle School, effective tomorrow, July 21. He most recently served as an assistant principal at Carrboro High School in CHCCS.
New principals will soon be personally reaching out to their school communities to share more on this proud and well-deserved occasion.
Additionally, at its June 16 meeting, the Board approved these administrative appointments:
Dr. Jonathan Dixon was named principal of Phoenix Academy High School. Dr. Dixon most recently served as assistant principal at The School for Creative Studies in Durham Public Schools.
Jeriel Champion was named as assistant principal at East Chapel Hill High School. She most recently served as a high school math teacher and curriculum writer in Henrico County Public Schools, Va.
Dr. Rodney Trice was named deputy superintendent of Teaching, Learning, Systemic Equity and Engagement, a cabinet-level position. Dr. Trice most recently served on cabinet as the district’s chief Equity and Engagement officer. The new leadership role reflects a merger of the district’s Instructional Services Division with the Equity and Engagement Division following the resignation of the district’s most recent chief academic officer.
