Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools issued the following announcement on July 18.

School Breakfast and Lunch Prices 2022-23: Due to the expiration of a federal waiver, school breakfasts and lunches will no longer be free for all students during the 2022-23 school year. While many families may still be eligible for free or reduced-price breakfasts and lunches, other families need to be aware of the prices that go back into effect in August:

Elementary schools:

Elementary student breakfast: $1.50

Elementary student lunch: $3.00

Reduced-price breakfast: free

Reduced-price student lunch: $ 0.40

Adult breakfast: $2.00

Adult lunch: $4.00

Middle/High schools:

Middle/high student breakfast: $1.50 

Middle/high student lunch: $3.25

Reduced-price breakfast: free

Reduced-price student lunch: $ 0.40

Adult breakfast: $2.00

Adult lunch: $4.00

Your family may qualify for free or reduced-price meals based on several factors that include household income, participation in an assistance program, or other qualifications. Please complete an application by visiting our website:
