The North Carolina High School Athletic Association announced on Apr. 14 the locations and schedules for its 2026 Spring Sports Championships, with events set to take place at venues across the state.
The announcement is important for student-athletes, coaches, families, and fans who are planning to attend or participate in these statewide competitions. The selection of sites covers a variety of sports and classifications, ensuring broad access and representation.
For men’s tennis, individual championships will be held May 8–9 at Cary Tennis Park (5A & 6A), North Main Athletic Complex in Holly Springs (1A/2A), Burlington Tennis Center (3A & 4A), and Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center (7A & 8A). The dual team event will follow on May 15–16 at Burlington Tennis Center. The association noted that Burlington has hosted the Men’s Dual Team Championships since 2000.
Men’s golf championships are scheduled for May 11–12 across four locations: Gates Four Golf & Country Club in Fayetteville (1A & 2A), Longleaf Golf & Family Club in Southern Pines (3A & 4A), Sapona Golf Club in Lexington (5A & 6A), and Pinehurst No.8 in Pinehurst (7A & 8A).
Outdoor track and field events will take place from May 13–16 at Marcus T. Johnson Track at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro—a change from the originally planned venue—with each day dedicated to different classifications.
Baseball and softball championships are set for May 27–30. Softball games will be played at Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, while baseball contests will be held at Burlington Athletic Stadium and North Main Athletic Complex. Classification assignments by site are expected to be announced later.
Women’s soccer finals will occur from May 28–30 at Durham County Memorial Stadium with matches scheduled throughout each day. Men’s and women’s lacrosse championships are slated for Moretz Stadium at Lenoir-Rhyne University on May 29–30.
These arrangements reflect NCHSAA’s ongoing efforts to provide quality facilities for high school athletes during championship season.
