TOWN OF HILLSBOROUGH: Online Panel Discussion on Inequality, Policing and Injustice to be Held Thursday

Town of Hillsborough issued the following announcement on June 22.

A moderated panel discussion on inequality, policing and injustice will be held online at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 25.

Registration is required for the free event, which is sponsored by the Orange County Local Reentry Council in partnership with the towns of Carrboro, Chapel Hill and Hillsborough. To register, fill out the online form.

Speakers will include Criminal Justice Staff Attorney Whitley Carpenter of Forward Justice, Community Outreach Coordinator William Elmore of the Reintegration Support Network and Community Health Worker Tommy Green of the Formerly Incarcerated Transition Program. The panel will be moderated by James E. Williams Jr., chair of the N.C. Commission on Racial and Ethnic Disparities in the Criminal Justice System.
