North Carolina FreeEnterprise Foundation launched a modified dashboard that should improve voters' experience when they navigate through election maps this season.
The Partisan District Index dashboard lets voters search through congressional and legislative maps just after a redistricting change that took place last year.
"This election is taking place during a global pandemic — we essentially have a doughnut election," FreeEnterprise Foundation Executive Director Anna Beavon Gravely said, the Carolina Journal reported on July 23. "We have had a hole this year when it comes to campaigning."
The information available is as early as 2014, the Carolina Journal reported. While the old method went back to 2008, the six-year difference will ultimately help determine Partisan District Index predictions more accurately.
Other alterations with the new system include precinct boundaries being determined via latitude and longitude, absentee votes included in voter files, and a PDA dashboard to show the annual partisan makeup for each election, the Carolina Journal reported.
