Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools issued the following announcement on Jan. 20.
Wondering how you can help our schools, as COVID protocols or other illnesses create increased absences across CHCCS? Help us keep students safe and in school, and help staff stay home as needed, for their own health and that of their families: Become a sub!
One of the greatest needs right now is to expand the list of approved substitutes, and here’s what you need to know:
• The non-certified substitute rate is $125.00 per day and the long term rate is $145.00. Certified substitutes receive a rate of $145.00 per day and the long term rate would be $165.00 per day.
• Substitute schedules are based on your availability. Even several sub shifts a month can make a big difference.
• Must be at least 18 years or older.
• Must have at least 48 credit hours from a college transcript.
• May fill in for classroom teachers, EC teachers, Pre-K teacher assistants or EC teacher assistants.
• Permanent substitute teacher opportunity: Permanent long term substitutes are paid at their long term rates daily ($145.00/ Non-certified; $165.00/Certified)
