Summerkids

Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation issued the following announcement on Mar. 17.

Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation has released the Spring edition of our RECREATE program guide, including a special section for Spring Break Camps and Summer Camps. Patrons may browse all our spring recreation programs, park destinations, and camps by visiting our online program catalog.

Registration for spring recreation activities and specialty summer camps begins Tuesday, March 22. For Summer Day Camps, registration begins, Tuesday, April 5. It’s also not too late to register for our spring break camps, currently accepting registration.

Featured activities this spring include a mix of outdoor, indoor, and virtual activities for all ages, abilities, and skill levels. Baseball and softball leagues return this spring, as well as new pickleball clinics. Other programs you might enjoy include Art in the Park, Tots in the Wild, Adventure Clubs, tennis for youth and adults, swim lessons, and virtual bingo.

Also, read about 10 action-packed weeks of Summer Day Camp, filled with swimming, arts and crafts, gym games, team building, and more. Our camp counselors help campers develop new skills and friendships while they play. There's also a host of specialty summer camps, including Arts Camp, Youth Explore Adventure Camps, Sports Camps, and Special Interest Camps.

We're hiring camp counselors, lifeguards, and swim instructors, too! You can apply online at townofchapelhil.org/jobs. Earn $10-$17 per hour in a fun environment where we care and provide great training.

There's lots to know and prepare for when deciding to register for our summer camps. It's important you plan ahead for our full-day camps; they fill up the fastest!

In addition to our summer camps, be sure to consider our spring break camps, including EMPACT Tennis Camp, Spring Break Explorers, Kids Yoga Camp, The Enchanted Tea Cup, Fishing Fundamentals, and Crappie and Carp Fishing at Lake Crabtree.

We believe public parks and recreation are the gateways to a healthier, more livable community. At Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation, we continue to expand our efforts to enliven our community by providing exceptional service, creating opportunities for inclusive recreational and cultural experiences, and nurturing beautiful, sustainable spaces.
