Chapel Hill residents can expect some changes in services and operating hours during the upcoming Easter holiday weekend. According to the latest announcement, various facilities and services will be affected on Friday, March 29, and Sunday, March 31.

"RESIDENTIAL TRASH collection will not be affected," ensuring that residents will not experience any disruption in this service. However, "YARD TRIMMINGS will not be collected on Friday, March 29. No make-up day," reminding residents to plan accordingly for this particular waste collection.

For those utilizing CURBSIDE RECYCLING, it is important to note that "CURBSIDE RECYCLING will be collected on Saturday, March 30, instead of Friday, March 29," indicating a one-day delay in this service. Additionally, the "ORANGE COUNTY LANDFILL and WASTE & RECYCLING CENTERS will be closed Friday, March 29 and Sunday, March 31," prompting residents to adjust their disposal plans accordingly.

Business owners should be aware that "COMMERCIAL TRASH will not be collected Friday, March 29," with collections scheduled to be completed earlier in the week to accommodate the holiday closures.

The Chapel Hill Public Library will be closed on Sunday, March 31, while the Chapel Hill Transit system will be operational with adjustments. "CHAPEL HILL TRANSIT will operate Sunday Routes (No U, NU and Safe Rides). EZ Rider will run from 8:15 a.m. to 6:52 p.m.. The 420 Route will operate," providing essential transportation services with modifications.

Residents requiring emergency maintenance services from the Public Housing Office and Maintenance Division during the holiday weekend are advised to call (919) 968-2855.

In terms of recreational facilities, several locations will have adjusted schedules. Administrative offices, Chapel Hill Community Center Indoor Pool, Hargraves Center, and Teen Center will be closed on both Friday, March 29, and Sunday, March 31. However, other facilities like Chapel Hill Community Center, Homestead Aquatics Center, and Nate Davis, Sr. Gymnasium will have varying operating hours on these days to accommodate residents.

Overall, while some services and facilities will experience closures or schedule changes, it is important to note that "Parks, greenways, trails, dog parks, playgrounds, picnic shelters, and outdoor park amenities are all open" throughout the Easter holiday weekend for residents to enjoy outdoor activities.
