The Town of Chapel Hill is abuzz with upcoming events and opportunities for community engagement this week.
Land use rules that shape Chapel Hill are set to undergo an update, as announced in a public information meeting scheduled for Monday, April 29 at the Chapel Hill Public Library. Community members are invited to attend and learn more about the Rewriting Our Rules: A LUMO Update, with a presentation by staff at 6:30 p.m.
Additionally, on Saturday, May 4, there will be a unique opportunity to explore nature with local herbalist LeAnna Cargman. Participants can join a walking plant tour in Pritchard Park starting at 10 a.m. in Chapel Hill Public Library Meeting Room B to learn about plant identification, foraging practices, history, and more.
In line with promoting safety, the town will also be hosting a 'Dive In, Stay Safe' Water Safety Clinic on Saturday, May 4. This event aims to provide life-saving skills, expert tips on water safety, hands-on demonstrations, and boost confidence in and around water. Registration is required for this free event.
These events offer valuable insights, education, and engagement opportunities for the community of Chapel Hill, catering to various interests and age groups. Residents are encouraged to participate and make the most of these upcoming activities.
