Chapel Hill Town Council discusses community strategy and park improvements

Complete Community Update

Planning Director Britany Waddell provided an overview of the Town’s Complete Community Strategy, emphasizing how staff will measure, track, and communicate its implementation. The presentation also highlighted staff achievements in securing and managing grants to support Complete Community and other initiatives.

Penny for Parks Update

Parks and Recreation Director Atuya Cornwell delivered an update on Penny for Parks, a budget allocation designated for various maintenance and capital needs. For Fiscal Year 2024, approximately $971,000 was utilized to enhance several parks and community centers and initiate the development of a Parks and Recreation Master Plan.
