At 1:04 a.m., the Chapel Hill Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Ashley Forest Road. Officers discovered a man with gunshot wounds. He was transported to UNC Hospitals, where he later died.
Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and are working to identify a suspect. No additional information is available at this time.
