Town of Carrboro Police Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 1.

The Carrboro Police Department wants community members to be aware of a phone scam that is currently active in Carrboro. 

The caller states you need to send money or a warrant will be issued for you arrest. 

They identify as Carrboro Police Officers and the caller ID displays the Police Department’s phone number.

 This is a SCAM. If you receive such a call hang up and call to 911 to report the incident.
