Town of Chapel Hill issued the following announcement on Oct. 24.

CHTC tonight proclaimed October 2022 as #OmbudsMonth in #ChapelHill and encourages all community members, including The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, to familiarize themselves with these services and to support and utilize these essential services.

The role of Ombuds originated in Sweden more than 200 years ago, designated as a government official charged with assisting community members with complaints or problems with their government.
