Town of Chapel Hill issued the following announcement on June 6.

Merritt Mill Road will be closed around the railroad crossing near the intersection with West Cameron Avenue beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, June 6. The closure will be in place continuously for roughly two weeks to carry out this needed work safely.

Local traffic will be allowed on Merritt Mill between Franklin Street and the closure. Merritt Mill will also be open south of West Cameron. Traffic needing to move through the intersection of Merritt Mill and West Cameron will be detoured down Graham Street.

The Libba Cotten Bikeway will remain open during this work.
