TOWN OF CHAPEL HILL: Vehicle Fire Damages Home on Westminster Drive

Town of Chapel Hill issued the following announcement on Dec. 10. 

The Chapel Hill Fire Department extinguished a vehicle fire outside a mobile home Tuesday morning. Firefighters were called to Westminster Drive at Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard at 8:18 a.m. and saw flames coming from a vehicle as they arrived.

One person who lives at the home was inside the home and made it outside with the help of an acquaintance who happened to be in the area and saw the fire. No one was hurt.

The vehicle fire damaged the exterior of the mobile home and caused minimal damage inside the home. Chapel Hill Fire investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.

Authorities closed Westminster Drive between Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard and Banks Drive during their response. Westminster Drive reopened just before 10 a.m.
