Town of Hillsborough issued the following announcement on July 13.

A suspect in an early July incident of gunfire outside an apartment complex in Hillsborough has been arrested.

Nakore Kewan Rogers, 21, with a last known address on Adlett Lane in Durham, turned himself in Thursday evening, July 21, at Orange County Jail. 

He was charged with:

  • Felony charges of discharging a weapon into occupied property and possessing a firearm by a felon.
  • Misdemeanor charges of injuring property (three counts) and discharging a firearm in city limits.

Rogers posted a $20,000 secured bond and was released.

Rogers reportedly discharged a firearm toward one of the apartment buildings at Cadence at Cates Creek Apartments, 1000 Waterstone Park Circle, the night of July 3. 

Two vehicles and a building were struck.
