Alamance Community College issued the following announcement on Dec. 22.

The Small Business Center at Alamance Community College is inviting local entrepreneurs to enroll in one of three business courses with a chance to win $10,000 to jumpstart or grow their business.

The CEO “Business on the Basics” program will prepare budding or veteran business owners in developing entrepreneur skills to successfully achieve their aspirations. Entrepreneur candidates for this program may be looking to develop and launch their own startup venture or wanting to amplify a current business.

“Whether your business is only the seedling of an idea in need of nurturing or you have developed business success over time, the Business on the Basics Initiative has something to help your business blossom,” said Ervin Allen, Director of ACC’s Small Business Center.

Candidates will receive guidance from mentors with advanced degrees in business law, accounting, finance and banking. Participants will learn through a combination of case studies, lectures, seminars, panel discussions and in teamwork settings.

At the program’s completion several participants will be selected, based on their business’s viability and model, to present their idea and business plan to a panel of judges. The winner chosen by the panel will receive $10,000 to jumpstart or accelerate their business venture.
