TOWN OF CHAPEL HILL: It’s National Energy Efficiency Day!

Town of Chapel Hill issued the following announcement on Oct. 2.

Did you know that almost 70% of carbon emissions in #ChapelHill come from the energy we all use in our homes and buildings? #EnergyEfficiency is a great way to reduce environmental impact - and it also lowers energy bills!

At Chapel Hill Public Library (pictured), the recent switch to LED lights will save $23k in utility costs and avoid 206 metric tons of CO2 emissions each year.

This reduces the same amount of emissions as taking 45 cars off the road + helps to create cleaner air and a healthier planet.
