Town of Chapel Hill issued the following announcement on Feb. 17.
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing exceptional service, we routinely schedule annual maintenance and inspections for our recreation and aquatic facilities. This helps ensure our mission, to create opportunities for inclusive recreational and cultural experiences and nurturing beautiful, sustainable spaces.
The Homestead Aquatic Center is scheduled to close Monday, Feb. 14, through Monday, Feb. 28 for routine maintenance and to complete some needed repairs.
During this closure, pass holders and residents may use the indoor pool at the Chapel Hill Community Center with a variety of drop-in times available for lap swim, recreation swim, and independent water fitness opportunities for the public.
As we continue to serve during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are limiting capacity to no more than 25 swimmers inside the pool facility at any one time. For example, lap swim is limited to up to six swim lanes, with a maximum of three swimmers per lane, during available times.
For more info on available times and our drop-in schedule, see the Community Center Pool Schedule. Feel free to call ahead at (919) 968-2790 to check in with us on availability.
