TOWN OF HILLSBOROUGH: Bryant Bailey to Retire After More Than 25 Years

Retirement

Town of Hillsborough issued the following announcement on Apr. 13.

Bailey began reading water meters for the town in 1996. In 2011, he became a utility maintenance technician I; and in 2015, he was promoted to utility maintenance technician II. In his time with the town, he has helped maintain the stations that pump wastewater to the Wastewater Treatment Plant. He also has located water meters that people couldn’t find in an emergency, during the day and at night.

“It has been a pleasure to work with Bryant over the years,” Utility Maintenance Supervisor Al Robertson said. “Bryant has always been willing to work at whatever he is asked to do. He has done a great job.”

Bailey said he enjoys helping people and hopes town employees continue to call him when they need help locating a meter.

“Bryant Bailey has been a faithful and dependable public servant in the Collection and Distribution Division for several years, safely working in the most unsanitary and challenging conditions to provide customers and the environment the cleanest water,” Utilities Director Marie Strandwitz said. “His historical knowledge of our systems and of the town utility operations as well as his quick-witted humor and team spirit will be missed. I wish him the very best in his retirement!”

Bailey’s last day will be April 29.
