Chapel Hill residents are gearing up for a weekend full of events and activities. In preparation for the upcoming Tar Heel 10 Miler, participants and spectators are advised to plan ahead for traffic and parking disruptions. According to the town's announcement, several roads in and near downtown will experience temporary roadblocks on April 20 from 7 to 10 a.m. Additionally, on-street parking on certain streets will be unavailable during this time.

For real-time traffic updates, residents are encouraged to check Waze or Google Maps. The Chapel Hill community is also invited to provide input on various town initiatives, including the 2024-2025 Community Development Block Grant program and the Downtown Public Right-of-Way Plan.

In a recent statement, the Chapel Hill Public Library highlighted an upcoming author talk featuring Allie Millington, the author of a new middle-grade book called "Olivetti," which is written from the perspective of a typewriter. The library is also hosting an auction of art, books, jewelry, and quilts to support its programs.

Residents are encouraged to participate in the Northside Festival, a free neighborhood celebration that honors the history and future of the Northside neighborhood. The festival aims to bring the community together through activities that promote joy and unity.

In addition to these events, the town of Chapel Hill continues its efforts in environmental stewardship and community engagement. With ongoing utility work and road projects in various parts of the town, residents are advised to stay informed about potential traffic disruptions and lane closures.

As Chapel Hill embraces the spirit of spring, residents are invited to participate in these upcoming events that showcase the town's commitment to sustainability, culture, and community engagement. For more information and updates, residents can visit the town's website or contact info@townofchapelhill.org.
