TOWN OF CHAPEL HILL: Fall Shred-A-Thons

Town of Chapel Hill recently issued the following announcement.

Orange County Solid Waste Management will hold two semi-annual free Shred-A-Thons for confidential paper in October. The event is open to residents of Orange County and Chapel Hill and local government employees.

On Saturday, Oct. 12, the first Shred-A-Thon will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Eubanks Park & Ride Lot (1/2 mile west of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on Eubanks Road in Chapel Hill).

On Saturday, Oct. 19, another Shred-A-Thon will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the recycling site behind Home Depot at Hampton Pointe in Hillsborough.

There is a limit of four boxes or bags. No plastic or metal items--staples are okay. Please bring confidential papers only (no newspaper or magazines). Recycle non-confidential paper in blue carts or at recycling drop-off sites. More information: orangecountync.gov/795/Solid-Waste-Management

Volunteer help is needed for the event. Contact recycling@orangecountync.gov or call Rachel Smith at 919-968-2788. These events are supported by the Local Government Federal Credit Union.
