Town of Hillsborough recently issued the following announcement on Sept. 1.
At the end of the wastewater treatment process, treated wastewater is discharged back into the Eno River.
Did you know the Town of Hillsborough treated about 393 million gallons of wastewater last year and had no water quality violations? See that information and more in the latest annual wastewater quality report, available on the town’s website.
The Fiscal Year 2019-20 report covers the period from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020. It includes information on:
The town’s wastewater collection and treatment systems and the performance of these systems.
How to protect homes and the environment by properly disposing of fats, oils and grease and items like sanitary wipes. Improper disposal of these can block pipes and result in sewer overflows.
The report is available in English and Spanish on the Wastewater Treatment Plant page of the town website. For a copy by mail, contact Utilities Analyst Julie Laws by email or by phone at 919-296-9630.
