TOWN OF HILLSBOROUGH: Traffic Detour Expected Oct. 25-27 for Utility Project

Town of Hillsborough issued the following announcement on Oct. 22. 

This work has been delayed for the remainder of the week. It is expected to resume Nov. 1-3.

Traffic changes are expected next week on South Churton and John Earl streets due to a utility project.

Work is expected between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Oct. 25-27, and part of the intersection at John Earl and South Churton streets will be closed:

  • John Earl Street will not be accessible from South Churton Street.
  • Mayo Street will be available as a detour to approach businesses along John Earl Street from the western end of John Earl Street.
  • Vehicles on John Earl Street will be able to only turn right onto South Churton Street’s southbound lane.
Motorists are advised to:

  • Avoid the area if possible.
  • Detour along Mayo Street or Orange Grove Road.
  • Watch for stopped traffic.
  • Keep work safety in mind when traveling by the work site.
